I need to book a radiology appointment, do I need to register first?
Can I register using my NHS login to book my appointment?
When your Doctor / Healthcare professional refers you for a Radiology appointment, you will receive an email/SMS text inviting you to book online via the Swiftqueue portal.
- To begin the registration process, please click on the invitation to register / book link you have received from Swiftqueue and follow the prompts to register and book.
- Please note: This link is specific to you and your requested radiology appointment eg x-ray, DEXA scan etc.
NEW: We are pleased to announce that week beginning 23rd June 2025, you can now use your NHS login to register and book an appointment via Swiftqueue.

How to register
- To begin registration, please click on the invitation to register / book link you have received in your email or SMS from Swiftqueue.
- Click the 'I Agree (Proceed)' button to continue.
You can then choose how you wish to register your details by either:
Option 1: Logging in using your NHS login details -
- Click on the 'NHS Continue to NHS login' button. This will redirect you to the NHS login site to login. Using your NHS login makes the process easier by skipping steps 2 and 3 below.
- If you choose to continue to NHS login but have any difficulty please see our Help Centre article on Registration using NHS login. Please follow steps 1-5.
Option 2: You can choose to register on Swiftqueue as a new user.
- Please note: The Swiftqueue login option will be removed in June 2026 so it is recommended to use NHS login (Option 1) to create your account to avoid the need to migrate your account in the future.
Step 1: Complete the registration form to register as a new user.
Mandatory fields are marked with * If there is no * then the field is optional. You can leave this blank if you prefer.
- Enter your email address that you will use in future to login
- Create your password for the account (see hints for how to create a strong password)
- Enter your First Name, Surname and Date of birth.

- Date of birth must be in the format example 04/04/1963

- Enter your Mobile number and /or Home phone number. Do not leave any spaces or dashes.

- Mobile number is optional but we recommend this to ensure you receive confirmation texts & reminders for your appointments.

- Enter your Gender.
- Enter optional information such as NHS number or Post Code.
- Click Register button once all information is filled out.
Step 2: You will see a message advising ' Creating your Profile'
- You now need to Activate your account so that you can book.
- Check your inbox as you will now be sent an activation code by email which you need to enter the number in the activation code box on the above screen. (Check your junk / spam folder if you didn't receive this or see or click the resend code options to receive this again.)
- After entering the code, click the Green GO button.
Step 3: Special Assistance Forms
- Depending on which NHS Trust / location you are booking at, may offer a number of special assistance questions for you to complete. This can differ between NHS Trusts.
- This option may be shown after you choose your clinic location, date and time.
Step 4: Choosing your Clinic location date and time.
- Please choose your preferred clinic location, date and time.
- Click the 'Book an Appointment' button to proceed and also see more dates and times.
Step 5: Finish booking your appointment.
- On the confirmation page tick the box to agree to the terms and conditions and click confirm.
- Your Appointment will now show in the Upcoming Appointments section in your patient portal
- You will also receive a confirmation email / SMS for your appointment once booked.
- Please check your Junk / Spam folder if you don't receive this incase it has been redirected there instead of your main email folder.
